Jón Jónsson and Matthias Egeler

Jón Jónsson is an ethnologist and heads the Research Centre HÍ in Strandir – the Ethnological Department, in addition to teaching at the University of Iceland. His area of expertise is research and dissemination of ethnological knowledge.

Matthias Egeler is a scholar in Icelandic medieval literature, folklore, Celtic studies, and the history of religions. When he is not in Strandir, he works at Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich.

Christian Riepl

Christian Riepl heads the Humanities IT Group at LMU Munich, overseeing the conceptualization and coordination of IT infrastructure, digital projects in research and teaching for the humanities and cultural sciences, as well as research data management in Digital Humanities.

Saskia Klose

Saskia Klose is a PhD student in Scandinavian Studies at Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, Germany. She is writing her dissertation on the relationship between landscape and (folk)tales in Strandir and is passionate about nature and adventure-filled stories.

Veronika Gacia

Veronika Gacia was a research assistant in the Humanities IT group at LMU Munich from 2018 – 2023 and was responsible for the website development of digital research projects. In addition, she worked in development and teaching in the Digital Humanities – Sprachwissenschaften degree programme.

Florian Zacherl

Florian Zacherl has been working as a research associate in the Humanities IT Group at LMU Munich since 2014. He designs databases and develops websites and tools for academic projects, focusing primarily on linguistics.

Alisa Fenske

Alisa Fenske works as a research assistant in the Humanities IT Group at LMU Munich, focusing on the design and development of web-based research projects. Additionally, she is involved in teaching in the Digital Humanities – Sprachwissenschaften degree programme.
